Empowering youth in and from government care in BC
Being in a relationship — whether it’s a friendship, dating, or even roommates — should make you feel respected, supported, and safe. Take our quest to explore ways to identify unsafe situations, and what to do if you find yourself in a relationship that doesn’t feel sale.
Consent means giving permission for something to happen, consent must be clear, freely given, and can change at any time. It’s about respecting personal boundaries and making sure everyone involved is 100% okay with what’s happening. Check out our quest to see how River and Raven navigate boundaries within their family.
Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and heard. Gender based violence happens when someone is hurt, physically or emotionally, because of their gender. It can happen at school, at home, in relationships, or on the internet. This is never okay. No one should be treated badly or unfairly for being who they are.
Identity is how a person sees and feels about themselves. Most of your identity is shaped over time through your interactions with people, and your communities. Some parts of your identity are things you are born with. In this quest you will learn more about everything that goes into making your identity!
There are a lot of different reasons why you might want to re-connect with your birth family, extended family and culture. Attempts to re-connect can bring up mixed emotions and old feelings. Whatever your reason, take the steps to be prepared before, during and after the re-connection.
Permanency can seem complicated. A physical space is one dimension of permanency, but there are three others: relational, cultural, and legal. At the request of your peers, a fifth dimension is added: self-permanency! Journey through this interactive quest to learn more.
