I·SPARC aims to improve health outcomes for Indigenous people across BC. The council supports and encourages physically active communities and expands access to sport and recreational opportunities for Indigenous youth. I·SPARC drew its inspiration from the BC Aboriginal Youth Sport and Recreation Declaration, established at the 2008 Gathering Our Voices youth conference.
I·SPARC offers sport programs for Indigenous youth through a variety of introductory camp and clinics held throughout the province. These camps and clinics are delivered in partnership with First Nations, Métis Chartered Communities, Friendship Centres, schools and other agencies. Youth can also participate in more advanced athlete development camps and compete at Indigenous Provincial Championships.
I·SPARC offers a variety of programs across the province that improve your health and well-being such as RunWalk, traditional canoe carving and healthy eating programs.
