Find a dentist

A dentist will check for gum disease, cavities, and other dental or mouth problems. It's best to go every six months for a check up and cleaning. After you age out you'll need medical insurance to pay for a dentist.

How do I find a dentist?

  1. Go to the BC Dental Association site.
  2. Enter your preferences into the boxes like language, dental plans, and location.
  3. Click search.
  4. Scroll through the list and choose the dentist that's closest to you or just feels right!
  5. Call and make an appointment.

Insider Tip

If you're First Nations and have Non-Insured Health Benefits (NHIB), check the Dental Plan: First Nations box to find a dentist that accepts your insurance.

If you're on income or disability assistance, check the Dental Plan: Ministry of Social Development box to find a dentist that accepts your insurance.
